Jericoacoara

Brazil

Jericoacoara, known simply as Jeri, is a former fishing village turned bohemian kite mecca, set among towering sand dunes on Brazil's Ceara coast. Strong, steady trade winds blow from July to January, feeding flat-water lagoons, open-ocean waves and some of the best downwinders on the planet. The village has no paved roads, just sand streets, sunset dunes and a relaxed, international atmosphere after dark. Conditions cater to all levels, from lagoon learners to wave hunters, and the sheer reliability of the wind keeps riders coming back. Jeri blends serious kiting with a magical, off-grid travel experience.
